With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Drew Lehman, a beloved member of the Le Mars, Iowa, community. Drew passed away recently, leaving behind family, friends, and teammates who will remember him with deep love and lasting admiration.
Born and raised in Le Mars, Drew attended Gehlen Catholic High School and also spent time at Le Mars Alternative School, where he earned his high school diploma. Throughout his school years, he was known not only for his kind heart but also for his dedication on the football field.
Wearing jersey number 2, Drew proudly played middle school football for Le Mars High School. Though not the biggest in stature—standing at 5’7″ and weighing 125 lbs—Drew played with a heart much larger than any number could measure. He gave his all to every game and showed true sportsmanship in every practice.
Off the field, Drew was known for his friendly smile, easygoing nature, and the warmth he brought to those around him. Whether in school halls or in the community, he touched the lives of many with his kindness and quiet strength.
Drew’s passing is a heartbreaking loss for the Le Mars community. His memory will live on in the stories shared by classmates, the bonds formed on the football field, and the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
